Robin Rushlo and I've been in and out of the MLM industry for over 35
years. I've joined and tried to build more network marketing
"opportunities" than I care to remember. It wasn't until 2004
though that I really made the commitment to succeed in network
marketing...
I decided to jump in with both feet. Fiercely
dedicated to building my home based business.
You see ... I had a
very strong reason to succeed (a big "why" as we say in the biz.) I was
100% blind and no one was hiring blind Accountants. Tough to read
the screens and the numbers!
My whole life was sinking fast, so I
couldn't afford to mess around... I Needed To Succeed And Do It
Quickly...
According to my upline, all I needed to do was "hit it
hard" for a few months and we would have a large enough residual
income to put all our troubles behind us. (And I actually believed them...
)
I was HUNGRY! I devoured everything I could get my hands on about
network marketing...
To make things happen fast I...

Read all the books...( They sold)
-
Listened to audios in my car... (They
sold to me Tons of audios!)
-
Never missed a company training. ( they
charge me to attend)
-
Attended all the team conferences and
opportunity meetings.( Which they charged me to attend)
-
Went to ALL
the events. ( for which the uplines charged me more)
-
Milked my
upline for every drop of wisdom and advice I could get from them.
(
which I latter found out was none as he had only been in the industry 2
months)
-
Spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours buying and
cold calling leads.
(Which my upline SOLD to
me)
-
And... most importantly - I did everything I was told, exactly
how I was told to do it! (and paid my upline for every
piece of Information)

I Wanted Success So Bad...I Did Everything My
Upline Told Me To Do AND MORE!
I made my names list... contacted
everyone on it... showed the plan... set coffee appointments at Starbucks,
Dennys, I HOP ... was driven all over creation... did three way
calls... passed out videos, CDs, Samples,... did home meetings.
Lots of them... I SHOWED THE PLAN!... Invited people to hotel meetings...
picked people up... passed out business cards... showed the plan
some more... prospected everyone with a pulse... used the referral approach... spent a small fortune buying leads... almost
wore the numbers off my phone cold calling leads... the whole
deal. (Did I mention I showed the plan?)
Even became the #2
retailer for my company . (One month I sold over $5,000 worth of product
retail. And that was A LOT in this particular company... ) I was
a real "go getter." You know... the kind of distributor any upline would just love to have in their team.
There was only
one minor (okay... BIG) problem.
After 20 months of busting my... tail...
I wasn't any closer to producing a "residual income" than when I
had started! (In fact I had "invested" more money than I had earned.)
Sure... I had a small organization going. But nothing
to jump up and cheer about. I'd cashed a few (pathetically small)
commission checks, but I wasn't even remotely close to breaking
even. I had to ask myself a couple very hard questions...Was
Everything My Upline Told Me Just One Big Lie? Was There Something
Wrong With Me?
After all, I did EVERYTHING they said, exactly the
way they said to do it!
After 20 months of killing myself day and
night to build my business, I was completely exhausted and so
frustrated with my lack of progress I wanted to pull my hair out! I
didn't understand why it was so hard, or why it wasn't working
for me!
At the end of 20 grueling months I was...
Struggling
to break even, let alone actually make a profit...
Tired of
spending hundreds, even thousands of dollars for corporate 'training' that
did nothing but 'pump' me up and talk about how great the company
is...
Disgusted by the 'fake it till you make it' Thursday night
hotel meetings where everyone puts on a happy face even though
nobody's going anywhere...
Fed up with my upline telling me to
'Just do more of it!' when the real problem was I didn't even know what I
was supposed to be doing in the first place!
Frustrated
that no matter how hard I tried to "lead by example", my people just
wouldn't duplicate.
Sick and tired of wasting my family's hard
earned money on hundreds upon hundreds of leads only to have 70%
of them be completely worthless duds.
Any of this sound familiar?
The low point for me came when I unloaded all of my frustrations
and disappointments on one of my respected upline leaders and he
told me...
"Robin, You're Just Going to
Have to Start Over All Over Again... "
Okay... That was not a good
thing to say to me at that point.
I was completely devastated.
(Devastated and angry!)
After all... I'd put over 9,500 miles on my
family mini-van, left my kids EVERY night to run off and do
meetings. I'd re-prioritized my entire life on a belief that it would
change for the better if I poured my heart into my business and
did what my upline told me to do.
How on Earth Could I Just "Start
Over Again?"
My names list was completely exhausted and I had
nowhere else to go. I had pulled out every last contact list in
my house and squeezed them dry a second, third, fourth and fifth time. Can
you relate?
The thought of going back to square one and hitting the
same people (who had REPEATEDLY told me no) all over again was
unbearable. I just couldn't do it... Out of options, out of names
and out of hope the realization hit me like a ton of bricks.
There
had to be a better way... A way to turn the tables and have people contact
ME rather than me contacting them.
What
I discovered shocked me.
I
learned that just about everything taught in multi level marketing is the
complete opposite of good "real world" sales and
marketing.
I discovered principles that totally revolutionized my
thinking (and my business.) Principles that made me realize
success in network marketing really was possible... and it didn't have to
be so darn frustrating.
So, I immersed myself in studying once
again. I began an intense journey of discovery and testing that taught me everything I needed to effectively build any network marketing
business the way a true professional would.
What
Happened Next Was Nothing Short of a
Miracle...
To my surprise, I discovered
that by making a few simple changes in the way I was building my business,
I began attracting people to me almost effortlessly. Highly
qualified new prospects began flooding in... And, these weren’t
cold contacts... these folks were warm (actually HOT)
prospects.
This radical shift in my business saved me so much time
and made me so much more effective because I was talking to those
who WANTED to talk to me. My sponsoring rate exploded and almost everyone
I talked to joined!
In fact... I've personally sponsored
33 people in a single month. That's not a typo... 33 PERSONALLY
sponsored, front line distributors in just one month. (What kind of
change would 33 personally sponsored new distributors make in
YOUR business?)
... and once I made these simple changes guess what
happened?
